Welcome to Leeds City Athletic Club

We are based at the Indoor Athletics and Bowls Centre next to South Leeds Stadium.

Leeds City AC has almost 400 members. The competing members (athletes) range from under-11 boys’ & girls’(School Year 4+); track & field and cross country teams right the way through the spectrum to the Veterans of all abilities. The club has an excellent coaching system and efficient supporting staff (refreshments, helpers). The club has a very strong ‘Harriers’ pedigree and also boasts a number of international athletes including:-

  • Hannah Cockcroft MBE - Won GB's first track and field gold medal of the 2012 Summer Paralympics, winning the final of the 100 metres T34 in 18.05 seconds, a Paralympic record. Hannah won another gold medal in 200 metres T34 in 31.90 seconds, also a Paralympic record.
  • James Wilkinson - GB International at Cross Country; Represented England in 2014 Commonwealth Games(3000m Steeplechase)
  • Susan Partridge - Marathon Bronze Medalist in GB Team at Barcelona European Championships Marathon in 2010; Represented Scotland in 2014 Commonwealth Games(Marathon)
  • Rachael Bamford - Represented England in 2014 Commonwealth Games(3000m Steeplechase)
  • Derek Hawkins - Represented Scotland in 2014 Commonwealth Games(Marathon)
  • Stephen Lisgoe - Represented Scotland in 2014 Commonwealth Games(3000m Steeplechase)
  • Jacob Fincham-Dukes - England Under 20 long jump champion with 7.61m. GB International at the World Junior Championships in July 2014
  • Gordon Benson - Great Britain International at Cross Country & Track and International Triathlete. 2014 - U23 European Triathlon Champion, Penza, Russia, Individual bronze medal and team gold medal (mixed relays) World u23 Triathlon Championships, Edmonton, Canada.
  • Jamie Higgins - AAA's 10K Race Walking Champion
  • James Walsh - Great Britain International at Cross Country & Fell Running
