Antrim Cross Challenge and Varsity Cross Country

James Walsh is racking up the international vests this season and on Saturday competed for England in the Antrim Cross Challenge event in Northern Ireland. Against strong Kenyan opposition he finished 9th, 2nd British runner behind the in-form Frank Tickner.

Closer to home, Bodington playing fields hosted the Greg Hull-organised Varsity Cross Country Race, an annual event between Leeds University and Leeds Met. Martin Roscoe, back from his Scandinavian training camp, finished 11th in a race run by the front-running Brownlee brothers, and will undoubtedly be fired up for the forthcoming Northern and National Championships. Adam Grice finished in 21st.
