Grace Plater set a big pb in the long jump,adding more than half a metre to last years best with 3.41m to win the U11 girls event. She also took on the 75m for the first time and was 4th in 12.4s. Thomas Cryer took third place in both the U11 boys 75m (12.2s) and 150m (24.6s),he also won the 600m in 1.59.9.
In her first outdoor venture,Rebecca Lister added almost half a metre to her long jump best,finishing 6th in the U13 girls competition with 3.43m. Her debut at 75m,resulted in a time of 12.5s and 5th place.She went one place better in the 150m (another first try at the distance) clocking 28.6s. Going a little further than in the Leeds Open,Lewis Renton ran the 75m in 10.6s and added a 1.30m high jump, both winning efforts in the U13 boys age group.

In the U15 girls,Nicola Sawyer jumped an equal pb in the high jump,with 1.30m for second place,ran 2.44.4 for 5th in the 800m and won the shot with another best (7.59m). Posting their first competitive results in the event,Charlotte Feeley and Nicola Miller took 3rd and 4th with 6.54m & 6.40m respectively.
The U15 boys 100m heats featured Louie Hurley,Jack Gape & Jacob Fincham-Dukes. Louie ran a pb of 14.1s in heat 1,Jack knocked over half a second off his previous best with 12.9s in heat 2 and just behind him,Jacob clocked 13.1s for his first recorded 100m. In their first outdoor long jump of the season,Jacob was 3rd with 5.10m and Louie 6th with 4.44m.Jacob also took second place in the high jump with an outdoor opener of 1.55m Not content with one big pb,Jack also destroyed his previous best in the shot adding almost 2m to it.His putt of 9.66m was the same distance as the winner,but Jack had to settle for second place on this occasion.

In her first runs of the year,India Wilson was well down on her best in the 100m (13.6s) and 200m (28.3s),finishing 3rd and 4th respectively in the U17 ladies events. Georgia Yearby was just outside her pb,with a time of 59.5s in the U17 ladies 400m.
Elliot Hurley opened his outdoor season with 5.87m to win the U17 mens long jump.In 3rd place,Connor Morley jumped 5.24m and in 4th,Max Ansell-Wood was down on his 5m+ indoor form,with 4.68m.In the 100m,Elliot showed good early season form,winning in 11.8s.In second place,Matthew Campleman ran a pb with 12.2s and in fourth,Max equalled his,clocking 12.9s.Over 200m,Max was just outside his pb,with 26.0s in 5th place. Matthew & Connor were also in throws action and in the javelin,Matthew,in his debut at the event threw 26.70m taking 2nd place ahead of Connor,whose 25.92,was his opening throw of the year.Matthew also took 3rd place in the discus,thowing 26.07m with the 1.5k implement.

Alice Simpson opened her outdoor season in fine style,throwing 50.10m,to take 2nd place in the senior womens hammer. In a change of event,Sheryl Punter moved up to the 800m,clocking 2.25.1 in second place in the senior race.
