North Eastern Counties Open Pentathlon – Gateshead 13 Mar 2011

Jacob Fincham-Dukes set pbs in almost all of the disciplines as he won his age group. In the 60m hurdles,he ran his 2nd fastest time of the season with 9.46s. Personal bests came in the long jump, where he went out to 5.25m and his first ever effort at the shot with a putt of 8.22m. Likewise in the high jump with a 1.60m clearance and another pb for the 60m with 8.18s. A combined score of 2431 points was also a pb and enough to see off the opposition.
U17 MEN
Connor Morley finished 5th in his age group with a pb of 2519 points, adding 142 to his tally in last year’s event. In the 60m hurdles, he clocked 9.73s for the second time this year and showed great form in the high jump once again,equalling his week old pb with 1.77m. A long jump of 5.35m and back over 9m in the shot with a putt of 9.10m, left just the 60m, which Connor ran in 8.43s.
U20 WOMEN Fran Coldwell scored 2725 points, including a pb of 8.85m in the shot, to win her age group. She ran 10.07s for 60m hurdles, high jumped 1.36m, long jumped 4.58m and clocked 8.67s for the 60m.
SENIOR WOMEN
After a couple of seasons away from competition, Kirsty Parr made a welcome return to multi-events, scoring 2547 points for a win. She ran 11.74s for 60m hurdles,threw 10.52m in the shot, high jumped 1.45m, long jumped 4.74m and clocked 9.224s for the 60m.
