Northern Cross Country Championships U13s and U15s

It was a fabulous day at Sheffield. First off were the under 13 boys, Billy Dawson ran a great first leg in 5.45, 7th in his leg and the 8th fastest time overall. It was then over to Alex Booth for leg 2, Alex ran a brilliant race and over the 1800m course he ran a faster pace than his PB for the 1500! Dominic Peterson was up next for the last leg and what a run it was. Dominic ran a super race to come home in 2nd place! The fastest runner in his leg by 10 seconds and the 10th fastest time overall. All three boys were amazing and so deserved their silver medal.

The under 15 boys were up next. Kieran Savage was off first and ran a fabulous leg in 7.12 setting the boys up in 8th place. Then it was over to Dominic Owens who was back on form running a fantastic 7.17 with one of the best sprint finishes I have seen in ages! Dominic handed over to Jack Allison to run the final leg, Jack put in a great effort and finished in 7.30 giving them an overall position of 7th. All three boys had a great race but I must thank Jack Allison for joining us on the day at such short notice (he only found out he was running at 11.30 the night before) to cover Ben Tootle who had to drop out due to illness.

Well done to the boys, you all worked hard and should be proud of yourselves and a special thanks to Benny Owens and Kevin Booth for getting us all there safely.
