UK Women’s League 3rd match – Cleckheaton 7th Aug 2011

The women’s team did a great job at the weekend,finishing in 3rd place,just two points off second place,consolidating their League position and ready for a promotion push next year.
Online results appear to be incomplete and have the wrong final scores,so apologies in advance if there’s anything missing from this report.
The scores at the end of the report ARE correct.

Naana Adusei ran two season’s bests,firstly in the 100m where she was 5th in the A with 12.8s and then in the B 200m where she clocked 26.7s in 4th place.
In the A 200m,Kadeena Cox was 4th in 25.8s and did really well in the triple jump,finishing 4th in the A with a pb 10.46m,moving her up to 10th on the all time list.
Joanne Westerman was 5th in the B 100m in a season’s best 14.0s,5th in the B discus with 15.78m and 5th in the B javelin with a pb 17.24m,improving on her debut throw at Crawley.
In the 400m,Marie Dobson was 4th in the A with 61.7s and Sheryl Punter 3rd in the B with 61.6s.
Sheryl was 4th in the A 800m with 2.20.9,Katy Parry 2nd in the B with 2.22.1 and 4th in the A 1500m in 4.51.9,Sophie Lovell winning the B in a pb 4.58.1,a huge improvement on her previous best.
In the 2000m steeple chase,Emily Birchall was just outside her pb with 7.40.9 in 3rd place and was also 3rd in the A 3000m in 10.18.3,Jess Nixon finishing 2nd in the B with 10.43.9 in her first run at the distance since 2008.
In the A 400m hurdles Marie was 2nd with 67.3 and in the short hurdles,Katy Marchant sped to a new pb to win the A race in 14.4s,with sister Amy finishing 2nd in the B with 15.6s.
In the field,Adanna Okeahialam won the A hammer with 46.76m,was 5th in the A discus with a season’s best 24.59m and 5th in the B shot with 8.06m.
Doing just the one event for a change,Stacey Evenden was 3rd in the B hammer with 31.93m.
Jenny Lumley was 3rd in the A javelin with 33.04m,2nd in the B long jump with 5.15m and won the B high jump with 1.55m.
Katy was 4th in the A shot with 10.99m and won the A high jump with 1.60m,in our best scoring event
Amy was 3rd in the A long jump with 5.16m and Marie 3rd in the B triple jump with 9.31m making her debut at the event and ranking equal 30th on the all time list.
The 4x100m relay team of Kadeena,Naana,Katy & Jenny were 3rd in 50.8,the fastest sprint relay of the season and equal 28th on the all time list.
In the 4x400m,the quartet of Kadeena,Katy,Marie & Amy were 4th in 4.03.8,a shade faster than at Crawley and 8th best on the all time list.
