West Yorks Cross Country League Sat 20 Nov 2010, Bramley Park

We were lucky again on Saturday with the weather and many club members turned out to run in this third match of the league. Being a non-runner myself I thought that the course was one of those which favoured anyone who had one leg shorter than the other!

In the U 13 Girls race Laura Benson ran and came in 42nd, she could do with some more team mates to spur her along!
In the U13 Boys race Joe Plater and Jack Wormald ran well together coming in 18th and 19th respectively.
In the U15 Girls race, they were the only team below the seniors who had enough counters and came in 4th place. As we have come to expect Gemma Keir came in strong in 2nd followed by Nicola Sawyer in 23rd and Grace Coburn in 32nd.
In the U15 Boys race Aaron Jewitt came in 15th, followed by Keiran Savage in 21st and Daniel Harrison in 33rd.
In the U17 Women’s race Anabel Obank made her debut at this level of racing, she looked very comfortable coming in 8th place, lets hope we see more of her competing and improving.
In the U17 Men’s race we only had two runners Gordon Benson came home in 1st place with his team mate Elliot Todd( or should that be soul mate!) not far behind him in 4th place.
In the Senior Women’s race we had a super turn out bringing the team into 2nd position with Kirsteen Young in 6th followed by Alex Gostling (V35) in 6th, Karen Hallas 9th, Racheal Dyson 15th, Sarah Whitley (U23) 18th, Sarah Graham (U23) 19th, Ruth Wilcox (V35) in 30th, Jodie Gregorczkc (U23) 47th and Sian Davies (U23) 51st.
In the Senior Men’s race the team came home in 1st place with Simon Deakin coming 2nd followed by Martin Roscoe, Mauzbin Ali, Martin Hilton, Michael Wood and Danny Davis in 5th to 9th. It has to be said that this s probably one of Danny’s best races ever! Fergus Meade and Chris Wright came 12th and 13th with Sam Bucknall in 22nd. Nigel Bedell, Leon Foster, Phillip Townsend, Robert Torch, Robert Gatenby and John Mace all had good runs representing the club.
