West Yorkshire Cross Country League – Knavesmire, York – Saturday 29 October 2011 – Junior Races

It was a deceivingly cold day on that very flat course in York when our youngsters set out on their second such challenge of the season.

U11 Boys – Our only runner Thomas Cryer ran a good race for his first time out, he hardly broke sweat coming home in 21st place(08.29)

U13 Girls – Kimberley Eastwood found the course quite a challenge but kept her cool coming 38th(16.48)

U13 Boys – Billy Dawson showed his strength and determination. His training his obviously helping is development, coming in 9th place (17.05)

U15 Girls – Gemma Keir ran a very positive race against some strong and challenging athletes coming 5th (17.14) Laura Benson ran her best getting around the course with few problems coming 26th (2021)

U15 Boys – This team of boys did the club proud bringing them into 1st Team position 6 points in front of Wakefield! Kieran Savage had a good strong, focused run and came 4th(19.00)
Dominic Owen kept the team momentum coming 7th (19.37)
Jack Allison who may have been a little ‘jet lagged’ came in 10th (20.02)
Zac Widera making up the fourth counter coming 14th (20.16)
Ben Toothill a fundamental member of the team, who helps to keep moral high in these youngsters came 28th (21.50) Well done Boys!

Sadly no athletes turned out to run in the U17 Ladies and Men’s races but well done to all those who turned up and who will be much better for it when they race next time.
