Yorkshire Road Relays – Leeds Carnegie – Sat 10 September 2011

It was a bright yet blustery day on the track at Carnegie for the start and finish of this years Yorkshire Road relays.

It was a new job for Team Manager Dawn Savage who sorted out the U17 teams and below. She made a very good job of it and the younger athletes appreciated her support a great deal!

U13 Girls – Only one runner Kimberley Eastwood making her debut at this type of event. She ran a good lap in 8.57 finishing 15th.

U13 Boys – Fabulous to see them win the team Gold medal! Billy Dawson came 2nd in 7.30, followed by Dominic Peterson 4th in 7.46 and bringing up the team rear was Alex Booth who came 11th in 8.05. A fabulous result for these three young athletes!

U15 Girls. – Laura Benson had to run 4.3K the same as the Senior Women. It was hard going for her, she came in 22nd in 20.31 and she should be proud she got around that course!

U15 Boys – There was some stiff competition in this race and our boys did themselves proud winning a Bronze medal! Kieran Savage finished 3rd in 14.23, followed by Jack Allison in11th in 15.55, then Dominic Owens was 16th in 16.42 with Ben Toothill directly behind him in 17th in 16.47! It was a good run out for these boys and they are all positive about the coming cross Country season.

We were unable to put out a full team for the Senior Ladies however Sheryl Punter (18.43), Jessica Nixon (16.19) and Racheal Dyson (18.27) all had a good run out to start the season!

Again we had an incomplete team for the Senior Men, however Dale Worton (21.08), Elliot Todd (23.10) Ben Dyson (23.49) and Peter Steel (22.58) had a good run out.
